iMac Love Story

The moment I laid my eyes on her, I knew… I had to have her. There she stood, looking forward and slightly upward. I don’t think she saw me until I walked right up to her, and when I did, that moment will forever be burned into the plasma screen that is my mind. I looked her up and down, and then back up. There I stood gazing into her face, a full 27″ across. She stood, towering over her friend the 21.5″ inferior sidekick.  Yea, she was cute, but not like this one.  This was the one.

I immediately found the first Apple sales agent I could and proceeded to purchase my 27″ iMac.  This is not a technical review, so if that’s what you’re looking for, here ya go: http://gizmodo.com/5388567/apple-imac-review-27-inches-and-less-chin

This is a love story, about a man and his mac.  I did all of my research at home before I made my purchase decision.  I looked at all of the reviews, customized it the way I wanted and priced it all out with my budget, and I wanted to save some money; so I decided to buy the 21.5″ iMac.  I had my mind made up before I went to the store to pick it up.  But when I first layed eyes on the 27″, I froze like a deer under headlights.  And there I stood, gazing into the display that extends all the way to the edge, in crystal clear and super High Definition awesomeness.  And then when I found at that it is as powerful as I really need it to be, with a great accelerated ATI Radeon HD graphics card and more than HD resolution (2560×1440, resolution it has 90% of the dot count of a 30-inch cinema display), I realized I don’t need the Mac Pro right now.  This will do just fine!

It’s working out great!  Of course.  It’s a joy to design on, and the screen is wide enough to accomodate as duel displays.  My Wacom tablet is the perfect accessory to this state of the art machine.  Watching movies and even playing games is crazy on here, too.  And I hear that you can hook up your XBOX 360 or PS3 to one of these bad boys, now you’re talking.  I might have to try that sometime.

Doing what you love is blessing enough, but doing what you love on a mac you love makes you love it even more.  And don’t ask me to say that again.

I bought her twin sister and after 3 hours at best buy and the apple store in Oxmoor mall, I finally bought the one at BB. Before this purchase I bought my two sons the 13′ Macbook Pro and then I purchased my 15″ MacBook Pro and I fell in love with my notebook. It took some time to get use to it and after I did I could not help but to purchase a desktop and a 1TB time capsule with built in Router. I swear since I bought these machines life has gotten so much easier and stress free.
    Congrats,
    James
